This is me…

I am a UK based artist exploring ideas around domestic art, craftwork, mental health and wellness.

I like to work in textiles, especially wool, silk and sequins. I use embroidery, felt making, soft sculpture, clay, print and foraged things to make objects which reflect memories, personal history and lost skills.

About Me

My name is Alison, and I’ve been making stories and objects ever since I can remember. Starting with dolls and miniatures, I learned to sew on grandma’s Singer 185k when I was 8 years old. I love the connection between making and memories, objects and stories and our personal histories that can be stored in the things we love.

Alongside making my own art, I’m a founder and lead artist for community arts organisation Make Good Arts, who run creative projects in the West Midlands, UK. I am an ADHDer and proud single mum of a neurodivergent family.
